Our experience as breeders
Fifteen years breeding Pyrenean Mastiffs and Jack Russell Terriers in Spain.
More than 15 years of continuous and responsible breeding (since 2009)
Our project began in 2009 with our first Pyrenean Mastiffs, a breed deeply connected to our land and to our way of understanding breeding: balanced, healthy and functional dogs with a stable temperament.
Since then, more than 40 litters of Pyrenean Mastiffs and Jack Russell Terriers have been born in our home, living with us from their very first day. Each breeding is based on a careful selection of breeding dogs and on the close follow-up of every puppy until it joins its new family, whether in Aragón, elsewhere in Europe, or on the other side of the world..
Reis D'Aragón is a family kennel where breeding has never been an isolated activity, but an integral part of our daily life. The experience that defines us today was not built at a single moment, but over more than fifteen years of continuous work, without interruptions, learning from every litter and from every dog.
This page brings together the essential information of that journey: real litters, generations bred at home, dogs living with families all over the world, and people who today form part of the history of Reis D'Aragón.
Summary of our journey:
- More than 30 Pyrenean Mastiff litters since 2010.
- Jack Russell Terrier since 2015, with small, family-raised litteers.
- Puppies living in Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, the United Kingdom, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Andorra, The United States, Canada, Japan and Jawaii.
- All dogs with pedigree and registered with the RSCE.
Breeding since 2009 means having evolved. The way we breed today is the direct result of everything we have experienced along the way.
Pyrenean Mastiff: the historical cornerstone of Reis D'Aragón
Ongoing breeding and international trajectory since 2010
From our first Pyrenean Mastiff litter in 2010 to the present day, we have bred more than thirty litters on a continuous basis, always in a family environment and with individual follow-up of each puppy.
The Pyrenean Mastiff has not been just a breed we raise: we live alongside it, observing its development generation after generation and learning from every dog.
Today, Reis D'Aragón is one of the family-run Pyrenean Mastiff kennels with the longest continuous active trajectory at an international level.
Litters, destinations and roles
Over the years, our Pyrenean Mastiffs have become part of:
- Private families
- Livestock farmers and rural hokdings
- Responsible breeding programs in different countries
Some of our dogs have achieved national and international championship titles, while others carry out guarding duties, protect livestock, or live as balanced and reliable family companions.
Some of our Mastiffs even live in the residences of internationally renowned figures who value the nobility and majesty of this Spanish breed.
Reis D'Aragón puppies have also become a genetic foundation for breeders in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Hawaii and the United States.
In every case, our priority has always been to find the right environment for each dog, regardless of the destination country.
Long-term responsibility
Those dogs who returned to the kennel when circumstances were no longer suitable are also part of our history. Cases such as Olson or Quicena reflect our way of understanding breeding: responsibility towards a dog does not end when it leaves our home.
Breeding lines and reference breeding dogs
We maintain our own blooddlines and have worked with some of the most influential Pyrenean Mastiff breeding dogs in Spain and Europe, such as:
- Ch I'm Ivanhoe de la Cabaña de Otaula
- Ch Bordagaray Ben Nevis
- Ch Wonder Boy de Font Roja
- Ch Javi Moreno dei Magenifa
By integrating proven lines, we aim to guarantee health, balance and strict respect for the breed standard.
Key females in the development of our breeding program
Throughout our history, certain femles have played a particularly important role in the construction of our kennel.
In the early years, in 2009, Giuditta, joined our program. Se came from Allevamento Montale (Italy), was Champion of Aragón, and became the dam of some of our first litters.
In 2012, Ch Cumbia Colombiana de la Cabaña de Otaula joined our kennel, coming from one of the reference breeders of that time. Cumbia became Spanish Junior Champion and Spanish Champion, and she went on to form one of the fundamental pillars of our breeding program.
Names with roots: a tribute to Aragón
The Pyrenean Mastiff litters of Reis D'Aragón are given names inspired by towns and landscapes of our land: Aínsa, Arbaniés, Jacetania, Graus, Riglos, Calanda or Jaraba are just some examples of names that today can be heard in dog shows and homes in different countries.
Each puppy that travels abroad also carries with it a small piece of Aragón.

Jack Russell Terrier: a parallel story since 2015
Although our story began with the giants of the Pyrenees, the Jack Russell Terrier has been part of Reis D'Aragón since 2015.
Since Litter "A" (2015), with Airbender, our Jack Russells have been bred at home, living with us, receiving real-life stimulation and daily socialisation.
Over the years:
- We have bred several litters placed throughout Spain: Aragón, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Seville, Murcia, Alicante and the Balearic Islands.
- We have kept at home dogs that live with us as part of our family: Brönte, Campanilla, Fosforita, Gominola, Hada or iTunes.
- Names that reflect closeness and creativity, ranging from literature to technology.
- We have worked with top-level stud dogs such as Horadada Mynnor and Royal Fox Road Royal Monceau Paris, ensuring balanced dogs with correct morphology.
A living project, with a future
Convivencia diaria entre Mastín del Pirineo y Jack Russell Terrier: un proyecto vivo y compartido.
Reis D'Aragón is not a closed project nor a story from the past. We continue breeding with the same enthusiasm and the same respect for responsible breeding that we had in 2009.
Our journey goes on, evolving and growing richer with every litter, every family, and everything we have learned along the way.
Today, after more than fifteen years of experience, we remain faithful to our philosophy:
to breed with love and responsibility, always seeking the right home for every life born in our house.
